Lancashire Road Routes

Lancashire offers a wealth of road routes

This is the land of esoteric pleasures, with lonely passes you may never have heard of – Bowland Knotts, Cross of Greet and the deep, dark Trough. Compared with the famous beauty spots of Cumbria and Yorkshire, you’ll find these places refreshingly quiet.

There are big, beefy climbs if you want to get your lungs going. There are quiet lanes lined with stone walls and sweet cicely. There are expansive moors gleaming purple with heather. And there are Cinemascope views out across the coastal plain to the distant peaks of Snowdonia, the Isle of Man and Cumbria.

Lancashire has a wealth of history along its lanes, all just waiting for you, your family and friends to explore. All you need is a bike.
