Cycology Jersey

Okay then, what makes Cycology jerseys different from other brands – it’s a reasonable question. In the main, cycle jerseys are much of a muchness, as the saying goes. However, once you get into the detail, that’s where you discover the Cycology differences.

The obvious one for this dynamic Australian brand is the design. Cycology have their own in-house graphic artist, Sarina and so can produce all manner of modern stylish and funky designs in a flash. Add to this recipe that Sarina is also a keen cyclist and the trademark Cycology aesthetic is borne. All too often brands produce a conveyor belt of colour and lines, with the only difference being the logo. When you wear a Cycology jersey, you’re instantly recognisable and clearly sharing the lifestyle and cycling culture of this growing global brand.

Looking across the current spring / summer men’s and ladies jerseys, six designs stand out: 3 of the mens and 3 of the ladies ranges. The vintage inspired Ciclismo, with vibrant red, banded in white, with a motivational message ‘Faster,Higher, Stronger.’ It’s a jersey that evokes memories of the classics and riders such as Merckx, Coppi and Antequil. The rear panel is emblazoned with a subtle heraldic vintage cycle motif, carrying the motto in Latin. Secondly, there’s the bright orange of the vintage styled Grimpeur jersey, again looking back at the history and culture of our sport, with the classic bold colours and banded motif, with the ‘Miles are my meditation’ logo across the back. Thirdly, every Cycology jersey collection should include a reference to the Australian connection and the ladies ‘Lucky Chain Ring’ in greys and blacks, neatly trimmed with orange, blue and purple is a classic and timeless Cycology design, drawing on Aboriginal art and symbolism of the Cycology ‘Tribal Tatoo’ but doing so by using bike components within the design instead, weaving it stylishly into this unique cycling jersey. The subtle and modern styling oozes out, yet it makes a quiet but powerful fashion statement for the cultural cyclist who wants to look super stylish.

Then, there’s another new kid on the block, in the shape of the ‘8 Days’ men’s jersey, with its splashes of colour blended against graffitied artwork, singing out relevant cultural messages for the Cycology tribe of modern cyclists, happily sharing both rides and coffee, living to ride and to chill out. Taking Sarina’s perspective on the design, she says it was influenced by “The Beatles + paint + paper = this graffitied artwork came from listening to their songs and realising they were singing about cycling! Oh yeah, we would ALL ride 8 days a week.”

Each of the referenced jerseys carries the usual Cycology high standard of materials and finishing. The fitted jersey’s use a high stretch and moisture wicking material, also having sun protection Factor 50 treated fabrics, which we think is crucial for long days in the sun. The Ciclismo and ladies Lucky Chain Ring jerseys utilise a lightweight mesh style fabric weave for the rear panels, maximising breathability and wicking on those long hot rides. Flatlock stitching throughout, together with high cut collars to keep out the chill and tough full length zippers finish things off superbly.

For the colour referenced women out there, the funky ‘Day of the Living’ jersey combines a modern design with a bright pink and form fitting fabric and a tatoo style skull design on the rear. This modern and stylish  jersey allows you to be feminine whilst showing off your personality at the same time.

Finally, there’s time for the funky Cycodelic from the ladies range, a new super bright Cycodelic design with vibrant green cogs, cranks, rotors and chain rings. It’s highlighted with a mix of other bright colours that stand out against the black and the jersey fits every contour due to the race fit, keeping you looking super stylish and ready to ride.

All of the jerseys are held in place by elasticated laser cut Miti Italian (take this out as we have changed brands with new factory) gripper on hips and sleeves for seamless comfort, providing that second skin feeling which we all like. Reflective trim on the 3 rear pockets and a zipped pocket for keys and coins, shows that every little detail has been well thought out.

The sun has taken it’s time to peek out during 2019, but its definitely here now and when trimmed with the Cycology arm warmers, you can be wearing these great designs into the late autumn. All of these 6 stylish short sleeved jerseys will  provide you with great style and performance options and make you look and feel like the cultured cyclist. All you need now is some bibs and socks to match – because style is not an option.
