Rh+ KLYMA SUNGLASSES
by Robert Thorpe & Larisa Chinces
Everyone seems to be making sunglasses for cyclists these days, and so it’s difficult to work out which brand to trust. Fundamentally though, a good starting point is always to look towards Italy – the home of Rh+. The Italians know sport, they know style and they always bring this knowledge to their cycling products – with lots of performance features too.
These Klyma sunglasses from Rh+ are a ultra modern single lens mask design, sweeping across the face with a large wrapped lens that has a stylish and impactive look. The variety of lenses available is vast, from a photochromic lens, a clear lens, to dark and mirrored and various colour options. The various interchangeable lenses filter out 3: 9% – 18% of light transmission and have universal protection across al lens options for intense solar radiation protection – and ultimately, that’s what you want. The lens is polycarbonate as expected, but is a quality thick lens, but one that provides surprisingly crystal clear vision. Best of all, the wrap around feel means that your eyes are protected from all angles.
There’s an adjustable note pad, and soft rubber ends at the temple area. The lens and frame are vented too, preventing misting, and this really does work when on the bike and sweating away, or in hot and damp conditions. The frame is from recycled products, which we really like, and it’s a super light and super strong frame, weighing only 30 grams, and they still manage to look slim and stylish. Frames also come in colour options, so you can take a dark look or a white look, depending on your kit and your helmet choice.
Over long summer use among the team here at Pedalnorth, these super stylish and modern looking sunglasses have become a firm favourite, keeping the sun at bay and performing perfectly, maintaining a clear view of the roads and trails. Autumn and winter is also a tricky time for riding in low sunlight, and these Rh+ Klyma glasses will certainly be getting some use by our riders.
