TRR Pro Advanced Collagen
Testing Phase by Chris Galley
Starting the TRR product review, it comes in a snazzy 50ml snap cap bottle, housed inside a box of ten bottles – 3 boxes in total. Mine was cherry flavoured, and once opened it revealed a thick, light brown liquid. Down the hatch and I was instantly smacked by the sharp and sour taste, which actually I came to enjoy, if not crave every day!
I worked out on the second day that I needed just a little water to swill out the bottle after taking the liquid, to make sure I got every drop from the bottle. It’s worth saying here that it’s totally up to you when you take this product. First thing in the morning, late at night, just before training or just after. I really don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer. The main thing is just to take it every day and be consistent. I have however read reports which guide towards taking it before sports, as ligaments, tendons and cartilage do have a sponge like quality and can soak up nutrients at the point of being squeezed and pulled, but it’s totally up to you.
The TRR product is easily swallowed and I felt no adverse effects from taking it (bloating, wind or other gastric issues). My first dose was followed by a weight training session. Now I’m not going to talk you through my day to day activities, because that would be boring. You just want to read… does it work?
Well, before I give that answer, I’ll say that I’ve trained consistently in the gym, on my feet with running, walking and hiking. I’ve cycled and rowed pretty much throughout the month of taking the TRR. I’ve even guided a young friend with fitness for joining the British Army, which has been really enjoyable to do. Looking back through my daily logs and without realising it, I’ve pushed myself in 30 days like I haven’t done for some time. In fact, not since I was competing in triathlons. That’s been a real positive for me; but is it a direct effect of the Pro Collagen or could it be the nice weather, sunshine and I have plenty of time to train these days?
Day two came and went with no stiffness or soreness. In fact, that became the norm right from the get go. I’ve not really suffered from significant muscle fatigue, soreness or stiffness in the last 30 days. Recovery has been pretty much overnight. This has allowed me to train the next day, and on the odd occasion where I’ve pressed on too hard, I’ve taken a rest day and trained the following day. I’m not back to full on triathlon training plans yet, but I’m not far away. Normally, I’d be ‘stiff as a board’ after weights or long trail runs, and certainly weighted marches with my young military candidate.
Throughout the test month, I’ve suffered no injuries, no significant muscle fatigue, soreness or tears. I’ve woken up fresh every morning and I put that down squarely to this product and the combination of nutrients coming together to help my body maintain suppleness, flexibility and strength from muscle shock, stress and fatigue.
I was hoping that my skin would also benefit from the positive effects of Pro Collagen. As a suffer of eczema, I have always been prone to break out patches, especially when working hard in sports. However, I’m sad to say this has not helped with that, but my nails are stronger and thicker, my hair appears in better condition, my eyes seem somehow fresher and don’t get tired as much.
I do feel that there are tangible benefits from taking this product from TRR. I do believe the combination of collagen, turmeric and glucosamine makes a difference in my body with both injury prevention and recovery. I’m no elite athlete and I really don’t push myself like I used to when competing in Triathlons, but this product provides me with that confidence that tomorrow I won’t suffer with that intense stiffness and soreness. My recovery from day to day fitness training in the gym, on the bike and on my feet (with swimming to come soon) is much quicker than without this product and means I can go on to train again, without waiting for days of muscle and joint fatigue to subside. My only reservation is with the price. It costs £87.82 for a month’s supply at the time of writing and that has a saving of 25% at the moment. You can save more by subscribing to their program which takes the cost to £81.50 (£2.71 per bottle per day) and you will receive the product every month.
Remember from my earlier blog that I had a wish list. Does the TRR product answer that wish list? Yes it does! It’s a great product and here’s why. My back, shoulder and hip are now much quieter and no longer yelling at me to stop. I would say that if you are training regularly, an age group sports person or certainly if you are training competitively, then you may reap the benefits from adding this product to your balanced eating regime, but the cost may be too high for most people when you’re already spreading your hard earned pocket money on equipment, clothing, memberships etc.
It’s going to be an area you really do have to examine closely to see if the benefits outweigh the costs, and if you can factor this cost into your overall or notional training budget. It really is worth a personal trial of your own to test and see if you would like to continue. My thoughts are positive, and I’d definitely say that it’s worth you giving it a go.
