Being mountain lovers in general, including several of our writers being guides and also members of mountain rescue teams over the years, we know that many cyclists and mountain bikers also love to explore the world in general. We each live in some of the world’s most spectacular cities and towns, with history and culture spilling out into the streets – literally! Nearby Fountains Abbey and the Yorkshire Dales castles for Robert. Barcelona and Gaudi for Nadezhda, and Teodora and Alex living in the World Heritage city of Sibiu in Transylvania. Each of us has a wealth of activities away from cycling to occupy us, which is why this new section of our website will focus on sharing ideas with you for your own exploration and travel adventures.
And, leading this new cultural travel idea section for us will be our friend and professional culture and mountain guide, Claudia, also based at Sibiu, but with a passport filled with stamps as a global traveller!
Take yourself on a cultural journey
Robert will also writing about places to explore in the U.K, Italy, Northern Spain and elsewhere; and Alex and Teodora will be writing about their many trips and travelling tips all across Europe, including Austria, Italy and Madeira. We simply want to inspire you to park the bike up every now and then and to feed your imagination and soul with some great hiking and cultural visits, as your body relaxes and your mind expands the possibilities of thinking.
