TRANSFAGARASAN ROAD – HARD 115KM
One of the great cycling road climbs of Europe, from the beautiful historic city of Sibiu, Romania, climbing this epic road and cycling into the Transylvania mountains. Double this up with a trip to ride the Transalpina road too.
ROMANIA TRANSALPINA ROAD – HARD 75KM
Another superb climbing route by Larisa Chinces, close to historic Sibiu in Transylvania, this cycle route in Transylvania takes in the famous Transalpina road, with its epic twists and turns, testing the very best of climbers.

DAIA ROMANA CIRCUIT – HARD 90KM
This is a superb route, with some excellent climbs thrown in. Sibiu sits in the midst of some beautiful hills and mountains, and this ride, from our deputy executive editor, Larisa, draws on her cycling knowledge and experience to explore the climbs to the west of this historic city.

SIBIU & ITS PARKS – EASY 37 KM
A lovely short cycle ride for mornings or evenings, taking in the beautiful parks of Sibiu and surrounding villages. A good leg stretch before or after you cycle the Transalpina maybe, or cycle on Transylvania’s magical mountain roads.

This is a superb metric 100, taking in some climbing to the north east of historic and beautiful Sibiu, and giving a good flavour of cycling in Romania & Transylvania. Sibiu is the best centre for great Romania cycle routes.

You can ride a one day epic, or be sensible and take this as a two day ride into the historic Saxon hills close to beautiful Sibiu. This is a superb cycling tour in Transylvania, filled with history.

A long day of climbs through the Saxon hills, cycling between Sighisoara and its medieval history, to the equally spectacular Fagaras. A spectacular cycling route in Transylvania.

An easier day, cycling on quiet country roads, with a few short climbs but lots of descending in the rolling hills as we cycle through Transylvania and return to Sighisoara, allowing you time to explore.
