Over recent years, thanks to friends and riders based in Transylvania, such as Larisa Chinces, Alex and Tudor, we’ve been able to create a selection of the best mountain bike routes in Transylvania and Romania for you to enjoy. We want to continue this into 2025 and beyond, as we work closely with others, such as Tudor Oprea and the great team of people at Triada MTB, and Alex at OutVenture guiding.

Direct Flights to Sibiu
Access to the best mountain bike trails isn’t always easy, we know. It’s never an easy drive, and flights can be difficult to find. Thankfully, you can fly direct to the historic World Heritage Site city of Sibiu from London, Munich and other European cities, and there’s a new airport at Brasov too, close to the 2024 UCI European MTB Championships, held in May. Add to this, the amazing forested mountains that, former Olympic mtb rider Tudor Oprea and the team at Triada are also looking to develop for more great mtb races, and you’ve got a place that’s definitely worth visiting – so, why not take a trip to Transylvania.
The Triada race series is now into its second decade, and this amazing mountain bike event is developing all the time. There’s three main event race weekends planned for 2024; in April, June and September, and as we said above; you can fly in to Sibiu, have a fantastic time in this beautiful city while riding the Trilogy of the Trails events – the Triada series, in Europe’s last great wilderness, the Carpathian Mountains of Romania.
