Elite Indoor Cycling Trainers
Improve your oudoor enjoyment
It’s come towards the end of 2020, a year that none of us will ever forget. Thankfully 2021 is here and we have an opportunity to learn from what’s gone before. Health has been at the very top of everybody’s agenda, and rightly so, as Covid has wreaked havoc across the world. Fitness is more important than ever if we are to use the experience of the pandemic to become a healthier global population. Thankfully, cycling has increased as people turn to bikes as a simple, enjoyable and effective way to get fit and stay healthy. Here at Pedalnorth, our new bicycle trainers have arrived from Elite, as we begin our collaborative project for 2021, informing our readers in the cycling community of the benefits of indoor cycling.
As the winter weather grips us here in the United Kingdom, and with Larisa too in Romania, where the snow will soon come, indoor training is critical for us. Yes, we often have tyres to test, and in the wet winter it’s useful – if you stay bike upright, then the tyre must be good! However, it’s no fun cycling in freezing rain or in snow, so we need an alternative. Thankfully Elite cater all manner of cyclists and we have a great range of their latest trainers to test over the next few months.
In the wintry mountains of Transylvania, Larisa has the Direto XR interactive smart trainer, and the top of the range Nero interactive smart rollers. As a competitive road and mountain bike racer, these are ideal for an athlete like Larisa, allowing her to measure her stats and to race with others via its compatibility with the myriad of training programmes available online.
Robert and Chris both live on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in the north of England, where winters are cold and damp. Thankfully, Chris has prepared a new fitness studio for the website and has set up the Elite Tuo interactive turbo trainer. It’s a sleek and beautiful design piece, as well as being a well engineered Mag Trainer that takes all wheel sizes and which works alongside many popular programmes and apps, allowing you… and indeed Chris to measure his winter training performance as he escapes the damp country roads.
Robert is testing the new Elite Suito interactive smart trainer and it’s their first ‘out of the box ready’ product, also folding away neatly, to allow our active travelling editor to take it anywhere. It’s a high end trainer that literally sets up in minutes and which will have you happily riding and smiling, as you combine it with any one of a number of programmes and apps such as Zwift, RGT and Trainer Road. He’s also testing out Elite’s Quick Motion rollers, designed with a floating platform that balances and equalises the motion of the rollers, allowing you the ability to stand up and pedal and to really push yourself. Robert’s a rollers addict, having used rollers for years and is excited at the opportunity see what Elite have added to the mix with their Quick Motion product. One thing that seems to be a must is the option to add an Elite Misuro B+ sensor (purchased separately), allowing you to monitor your power, cadence, speed and other stats, and allowing you to use the rollers with indoor training platforms such as TrainerRoad and The Sufferfest.
It’s time to find out what each of our writers initial thoughts are, as they unbox and set up the Elite range of indoor cycling trainers. Over the next few weeks of January, we will be adding specific articles about each of the trainers in the images above. All that you have to do is to click an image and then read the thoughts of our team as they test these advanced trainers from Italy and begin the journey to improved outdoor cycling through the very best of indoor cycling technology 🙂
