Gravel biking in Yorkshire is the new ‘Hovis’ bread advert from our childhood! You remember – those days when one bike did it all. The gravel bike is the new , super versatile bike that we all wanted as a kid, and the cycling industry have now given it to us. Add to this, that Yorkshire has some of the best gravel bike trails in the world, and you’ve got a great combination.

Many of the tracks and trails within the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorks Moors National Parks, are ideally suited to tackling as a gravel bike route.  With the rocky landscape and gritstone areas of wild and remote moorland, the area is a haven for gravel riders seekers adventure and solitude, riding some of the best dusty and rocky gravel bike trails in the U.K… Routes such as the famed Cam Road, above Wensleydale are epic, with the rock strewn ribbons of technical trail that climb above Wensleydale. Tackling these on a gravel bike allows us to extend the off-road adventure, tackling the tarmac easier as we ride to the best gravel bike routes in Yorkshire.

A superb introductory gravel bike route from the historic Dales market town of Masham. It takes you across high moorland, along tree lined lanes and through woodland, as you taste the gravel biking opportunities of this epic cycling location.

Wensleydale TrailFest

While this is a reasonably short 2 hour ride, it packs a punch, and is probably one of the very best rides in the National Park. With hard climbing, the rider is rewarded with epic descents and superb views across the hills. This is definitely a favourite ride with the team here.

Around the Howgills

The Howgills are one of the most spectacular areas of hills in the U.K.. This route tackles some epic climbing, but rewards with amazing views, and great day on the bike - be it gravel bike or mtb

Nidderdale Loop

Nidderdale is one of the most beautiful places in the Dales, and home to some epic gravel bike riding, and awesome mtb routes. It's an adventure playground for all cyclists, and a place that all off-road riders ought to visit

Malham Tarn

The limestone tracks around Malham Tarn are a great place for a short trip on the mtb or the gravel bike. This route is a great introduction to off-road riding, and close to the spectacular Malham Tarn.
Park Rash

Kettlewell Killer Loop

This epic ride takes you from Kettlewell, along the Wharfdale valley to Mastiles Lane, before climbing to Malham Tarn. The traverse of the hills is remote, before epic descending back to Kettlewell on rocky ground.

Settle Loop mtb

The Settle Loop is a classic off-road cycling route in the Dales; and is epic on either MTB or gravel bike. Drop down to the village of Malham, or extend it to Kilnsey - each option is incredible
