Alé Klimatik KTour Mens Jersey
by Robert Thorpe, Executive Editor
Alé know that cyclists need a different kind of protection in autumn. One that also covers milder winters days and those early days of spring. They’ve used this knowledge to create the K-Tour jersey and bib shorts from their Klimatik fabric collection. Having tested it extensively, we really do like it. Best of all, as well as having all the necessary performance requirements, it’s also super stylish and comes in a variety of colour options. Here’s the technical details then.
The new K-TOUR short sleeve jersey is designed for winter training, but also works well on cold autumn days and early spring, when those chill winds blow, and when the rain may be on the horizon. Alé say that it’s suitable for high intensity training during high humidity weather condition, and living here in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, I have to agree.
The DWR treatment protects against light rain and dirt while keeping breathability and moisture under control. Its got a high quality internal fleece fabric that insulates you from the cold and keeps you dry.
It’s cut with various panels too, meaning that the four way stretch insulated fabric fits closely without being restrictive – always important, but especially so in colder weather, with heavier clothing. Sizing is quite good, even on this race fit design from Italy. I take a general Euro medium, and this Italian sized jersey fits easily in medium, so bare this 8n mind with your own sizing choice when you purchase it – which we’re sure that you’ll want to do 😉 . Various reflective elements have been incorporated throughout the jersey, as well as a new construction of the back gusseted pocket. The pockets are super deep, strong and stretchy and easy to access with gloved fingers.
If you choose to combine this jersey with the K-Atmo arm-warmers, made with the same material, it allows you to increase protection on the arms and looks and feel simply great, adding to its use. The high collar is insulated, and also has a soft perforated lining, ensuring that you don’t sweat around this area. The zipper also has a super strong inner perforated cover, helping to keep the wind at bay. The lower rear gusset fabric is likewise created from a lighter perforated fabric, whilst sharing the waterproof properties of the main insulated fabrics on the K-Tour. All in all it’s a perfect winter training jersey, being designed with protection and performance, and on the roads it really works.
If you’re looking for a short sleeved cycling jersey for autumn winter training, that works well with warmers too, then this Klimatik range jersey from Italy and Alé could be just right.
