Garachico climbers circuit – Tenerife
Epic Tenerife road cycling route, with coastal and mountains views, along with some tough climbs and great descents. The route intitially takes you along the cost, for some great sea views, before heading inland, and to some of the most beautiful villages in Tenerife.
Garachico is one of the most popular and authentic places in Tenerife, with a wealth of things to see, and lots of places to eat and relax. This short spin into the hills is a great ride out, and takes you into the beautiful nearby hills, on the north of the island.

Refreshments & Where to Stay There are ample places to get refreshments along this route, so we won’t confuse the issue. Simply choose the one that suits you best, in terms of distance intothe ride and what you like. In terms of places tostay, Garachico itself is quite beautiful, or one of the other places along the northern coast.
Character The route starts with a roloing 15 km along the coast, before the climbing begins,and continues to about the 35 km point. A brief rest is offered, before it’s time to descend the awesome roads. Take care on the roads, especially when descending, and be mindful of your ability and limitations.
Route
1. Leaving the coastal town of Garachico, take the coastal road towards Los Silos, before heading coastal to Puertito Los Silos itself.
2. Follow the coastal road to the famed lighthouse at Faro de Buenavista del Norte, then heading inland towards Buenavista, and into the hills and the villages.
3. A series of awesome steep switchbacks lead you passed the village of Vina Camello, and then continue climbing upawrads,passing Erjos, before the climbing ends at San Jose de Los Llanos.
4, Enjoy the views, rest and take on refrehments, before tackling the epic descending roads, all the way back to the coast and Garachico.
