BePInk in 2024 – with Officine Mattio
Specialist and high-quality Italian bike brand, Officine Mattio has signed its first ever technical partnership agreement with the UCI Continental BePink women’s team, for 2024. The Cuneo based cycle brand will provide the team riders with its top range Lemma RT model. Interestingly, this is the first sponsorship of a UCI team for the brand. The first race on the bike will be later this month, 28th January, at the Women Cycling Pro Costa de Almería.
The BePInk team has been instrumental in promoting women’s elite cycle racing for over 12 years. Along the way, team riders have amassed over 200 National, European, World and Olympic victories, with 9 of the team progressing through to ride at World Tour level. In terms of the development of women’s cycling, BePInk are a standard bearer, and this partnership will ensure that the team continues to lead the way.
Riding to the top – Italian style
The team, based in Lombardy, Italy, which is the result of Walter Zini and Sigrid Corneo’s passion and expertise, and Officine Mattio, founded by Giovanni Monge Roffarello, share a history of entrepreneurial determination and courage, as well as a pursuit of aesthetics and top performance. Their shared goal is to grow and to reach new important achievements in cycling. With the previous performances of the BePink team, it will be interesting to see how the new bike performs this season.
Today is the first opportunity for the athletes, who will be training in Tuscany, to use the Officine Mattio bikes for their group training sessions. When asked about the new partnership, Officine Mattio stated “We immediately had a connection with Walter Zini, as we both want to do something great in what has always been his world: women’s cycling. We at Officine Mattio love challenges and look forward to getting started!”, said Giovanni Monge Roffarello CEO of Officine Mattio.
Lemma RT Race Bike – engineered for excellence
The Lemma RT is an iconic model by the brand from Cuneo, and is specifically equipped with top range components, and designed for racing. It’s an extremely high-performing bike, with an exclusive, and creatively aesthetic style, specifically dedicated to the women’s team. All the athletes will be supplied with two identical bikes, one to train with and the other for competitions. In terms of the technical detail; the Lemma RT has a wrapped frame in T1100 carbon fibre, whose name “comes from the Alpine climb near the company’s premises, on which the founder, Giovanni Monge Roffarello, tested their first prototype.
The team’s bikes will be assembled with top range components SRAM Red AXS 12v groupset, with power meter; stem, handlebar and wheels from fellow Italian brand Deda Elementi, and has Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tyres, a Repente saddle, and top of the range carbon pedals from LOOK. Finished off with a Officine Mattio bottle cage, it’s a super-stylish, high-performance race machine for the ladies cycling season, and we look forward to seeing more pink jerseys on the podium in 2024.
