Boca Raton to Miami Cycle Route

Boca to Miami by Bike

Boca Raton is a city on Florida’s southeastern coast, known for its golf courses, parks and beaches. Large, oceanfront Red Reef Park is home to the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center with trails, a butterfly garden and a sea turtle sanctuary. Downtown, Boca Raton Museum of Art has modern and contemporary American and European collections, and a sculpture garden. Nearby Mizner Park Amphitheater hosts concerts and events.

This route follows a section of the signed ‘East Coast Greenway’, a great initiative to produce a southern coastal cycling route for everyone.  It’s a great area for cycling in Florida and the roads used are reasonably quiet. However, care should always be taken on roads shared with traffic, and a helmet should always be worn.

Route

We started the ride at Sullivan Park near the beach. The route is easy to follow with the gpx and takes the A1A Florida Highway and East Coast Greenway, predominantly staying close to the coast, with a few excursions to take account of road layout. The beach views at Lauderdale are epic and will draw to you to stay a while and to take it all in – and why not 😉

The waterfront at Miami is truly spectacular and we take  you to South Pointe Park, before it’s time to either head to your hotel, or take some refreshments before heading back to Boca with a sunshine smile 🙂
