Gravel Biking in the Chilterns & South Downs
The Chiltern Hills and the South Downs are two quite spectacular areas for exploration on 2-wheels – especially gravel bikes. With a seemingly endless number of gravel biking trails on terrain that is just technical enough to be testing, but friendly in every other way, the Chilterns and South Downs provide a gravel biking area par excellence for all who venture onto the trails.
With easy access for London based gravel bikers, alongside access to the urban areas of the Home Counties and Surrey Hills, the Chilterns in particular should be at the top of the list for gravel bikers from London and South East, lying just north of the capital and being filled with expansive hills.
Add to this area, the magnificent rolling gravel biking hills of the South Downs to the south of London and it’s a geographical gravel paradise – which is why we’ll be exploring it.
