COVERDALE ABBEY – MEDIUM 34 MILES
This route takes part of the 2014 Tour de France route – in reverse – climbing steadily to the historic Dales village of Middleham, with Richard IIIs castle and gallops. You then enter beautiful Coverdale, climbing along narrow, winding lanes, before descending and crossing the River Cover for the second time.
WENSLEYDALE CASTLES – HARD 29 MILES
This is a great little rolling ride from Middleham Castle and a superb introduction to the Dales. It takes an obvious line through Wensleydale, with sweeping descents to catch some speed, using the parts of the Dale that Le Tour missed out on, as well as some of the Le Tour route.

Elite make the very best indoor trainers, and Larisa and Robert will be testing them out and writing about how cyclists of all ages and abilities can benefit from indoor training. Along with advice on nutrition and performance from our friends at VOOM Nutrition, we’ve got lots planned for the future. Indoor cycling shouldn’t simply be about racing others on a screen in a warm and cosy environment. It should aim to make your outdoor adventures even more spectacular, finally achieving that ride on the Stelvio or Park Rash. Nutrition is also a key area and one that not all cyclists fully understand, and so we want to improve your overall awareness, making sure that we include nutritional information where we can in our training blogs.
